Many companies are - at least partially - moving their operations to Office 365, specifically SharePoint Online. As a result we are getting an increased number of questions from customers about the ability to move existing 'on-premise' licenses to our SharePoint Online subscription based service.
The PDF Converter for SharePoint and PDF Converter for SharePoint Online are completely different products. One is sold as a license for installation on customers’ local system, while the other is a subscription based service for which the back-end is hosted by Muhimbi. As a result the licenses are not compatible.
Although there is no official upgrade path, customers with an active maintenance and support agreement will receive a discount. The exact discount depends on the existing 'on-premise license', the subscription plan that is being upgraded to, the next renewal date and if the customer will continue to run both environments in parallel.
